Goletta dei Laghi: Fantini Hosts Legambiente

The Goletta dei Laghi, a historic campaign dedicated to monitoring Italian lakes to highlight water health, report critical issues and promote virtuous examples of management and sustainability, returns to Piedmont.

Goletta dei Laghi, the historic campaign devoted to monitoring the health of Italian lakes, reporting problems, and promoting examples of positive management and sustainability, is returning to Piemonte.

On July 11, 12 and 13, Legambiente Piemonte e Valle d’Aosta will be at Lake Maggiore (Piemonte shore) and lakes Orta, Avigliana and Viverone, with institutional events, scientific monitoring,  citizen science actions, and press conferences.

On Tuesday, July 12, at 10:30 a.m., Fantini will host a press conference to present data on the health of the Piemonte shores of Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta based on microbiological sampling.

Lake Orta is taking shape as a true pilot project for this type of investigation, with the goal of becoming  an open-air laboratory of national importance, not only from the scientific perspective, but also in terms of the environmental humanities.

Fantini is a company that has always been attentive to protecting its local territory and the environment. It shares the goals of Legambiente and stands with all activists in the lake community who have signed the Lake Contract and actively participate in protecting its delicate balance. Fantini is therefore delighted to contribute to the Goletta dei Laghi project by hosting the press conference at its headquarters, which are internationally recognized as a virtuous example of harmonic integration of industrial architecture into the natural landscape.

Conference participants will include: Alice De Marco, Director of Legambiente Piemonte e Valle d’Aosta; Daniela Fantini, CEO of Fantini; Elisa Scocchera, of Legambiente’s Scientific Office; Massimiliano Caligara and Roberto Signorelli, of Legambiente’s “Gli amici del lago” local branch; Jacopo Fogola, of Arpa Piemonte; and Gianni De Bernardi, for the Ecomuseum of Lake Orta.

The event will be broadcast live on Facebook on the pages of Legambiente Piemonte and Fantini.
