Bertrand Lejoly
Bertrand Lejoly founded his own design studio in Antwerp, Belgium, in 2021.Raised at the German-speaking border of Belgium, Bertrand Lejoly was immersed in Belgian, German, and French cultures from an early age. Drawing from this diverse upbringing and his distinctive professional background, Lejoly’s work seamlessly integrates elements of both northern and southern European culture. Bertrand Lejoly describes his style as “refined simplicity”. His objects walk the boundary between an expressive yet subtle design language. He enjoys incorporating elements from the collective memory into his designs, creating timeless pieces for everyday use. Before starting his own path, he worked as Head of Product Design alongside the Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen from 2013 to 2021. From 2006 to 2013 he collaborated with Matteo Thun & Partners in Milan. His first working experience in product design was in Germany, after graduating from the École supérieure des arts Saint-Luc in Liège in 2002. Since the foundation of his studio, Bertrand Lejoly has been collaborating with several renowned brands such as Zanotta, Paola Lenti, Fantini, Serax, Duravit and RH. The studio has won several awards, amongst others a German Design Award, a Red Dot Award and an IF Design Award.
